Device Mingling
- split students into partners that share one device (or have their own device)
- complete a task with the first partner for specified length of time
- rotate to a different partner
- continue with the task
- rotate as many times as needed
- ex. - students and teacher create a Kahoot! quiz. Partners work through one question of the Kahoot!. Rotate to another partner and complete one more Kahoot! question. Rotate until the entire quiz is completed.
Draw My ...
- Students are asked to write a set of directions describing how to draw an object (technical writing skill work). Students are paired with a partner. One student reads his/her directions while the other student uses a device to draw the object based on the directions given. Possible apps to use with this activity: EduCreations, Draw my Monster, Adobe Draw.
Digital Storytelling
- Pair students up to write a story that can be illustrated using digital tools.
- The story should be written so that characters have speaking parts.
- Insert video and have digital character describe the content of the video.

Online Author
- Students create an illustrator story that can be posted online
- Digital tools for online authoring: Book Creator, Little Story Creator, Write About This, Comic Life Explain Everything, Digital Scrapbook, Comics Head
Digital Scanvenger Hunt
- Students can be paired together (or use small groups) to find objects in the real world that meet the criteria of a given clue.
- Clues may be: definitions of content specific terms, themes/concepts within a unit, or created by students for other students to locate
- Great opportunity for problem solving and collaboration
